Green finishes 24th in SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 300

Concord, N.C. - Driver Mark Green piloted the LoveFiFi.com Chevrolet to a 24th place finish in the SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 300 on Friday evening. It was the first top-25 finish for a Keith Coleman Racing entry in their second event.

The team is happy to have finished the race, but is by no means satisfied with the outcome. They suffered a set-back when a slight run-in with another driver on lap 132 resulted in a cut left-rear tire. The team changed all four but was penalized three laps for exceeding the NASCAR imposed limit of three sets of tires under caution.

“It’s frustrating because we had the equipment to run up front,” said Crew Chief Mike Byrd. “The car was getting better with each stop and right before the flat we were running as fast as the leaders.”

KCR will hit the track again this weekend in Memphis at the Sam’s Town “He Dared to Rock” 250. Qualifying is scheduled for 3:35 p.m. CST on Friday with the race following on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

“ We’ve got a fast car and that’s the hard part,” Green said. “Give us a little time to gel and we will be moving up in the pack.”
