Sam’s Town 250 ends early for
KCR entry
Memphis, Tenn. - Maybe things had been a little too easy for Keith Coleman
Racing. After qualifying in the team’s first effort two weeks ago and
a 24th place finish at the SpongeBob SquarePants 300 last weekend, Mark Green
qualified 13th for the Sam’s Town “He Dared to Rock” 250.
Green moved as high as tenth and was running just outside the top-20 when
a mishap on lap 161 caused an early end to the race for the LoveFiFi.com
Chevrolet. Green spun out in turn three and hit the wall after contact
with another car.
“
It’s a tough way to end the day,” said Green. “The crew
worked hard all day and the car was really starting to come around when we
hit the wall.”
The team will have to re-group quickly as they will attempt to qualify
in their fourth consecutive race at the Aaron’s 312 at the Atlanta Motor
Speedway next Saturday.
“
That’s racing,” said Crew Chief Mike Byrd. “Nobody wants
to go out like that but it happens to everyone now and then. We’ll
get back to work on Monday and go after it again in Atlanta next weekend”
