Green finishes 23rd at Aaron’s 312
Hampton, Ga. - It was another week of steady improvement for the Keith Coleman
Racing team as Mark Green finished 23rd at the Aaron’s 312 on Saturday.
The finish is the highest yet for a KCR entry.
It was a difficult day for Mark Green, driver of the LoveFiFi.com Chevrolet.
He fought a poor handling car for the entire afternoon and had a lot of difficulty
getting through the corners.
“ It was tight, it was loose, it was everything,” said Green. ‘I
felt like I was driving on a dirt road while everyone else was on asphalt.”
It was a remarkably well-run race as there were few cautions caused by
accidents. A five-car collision in the first few laps brought the first yellow,
and then the cars raced under green-flag conditions for more than 90 laps.
A pair of debris-induced cautions punctuated the next 90 laps before two
separate accidents brought out yellows at the end, including a three-car
collision with two laps to go that resulted in a green, white, checkered
finish.
“We couldn’t get the car quite right and the cautions just didn’t
break our way,” said crew chief Mike Byrd. “But there are some
positives we can take from this and build on for next week in Phoenix.”
The race was won by Matt Kenseth who edged Kyle Busch and Kasey Kahne for
the win. Eleven cars finished on the lead lap.
