Green finishes 22nd in Diamond Hill Plywood 200

Darlington, S.C.– Mark Green drove the #23 Vassarette Chevrolet to a 22nd place finish in the Diamond Hill Plywood 200 at Darlington Raceway on Friday.

Green, who started in 35th position, fought a tight handling car the entire evening. He was spun out just past the mid-way point but managed to a great save to keep the car undamaged.

“I was good by myself but I just couldn’t cut under anyone,” said Green. “We tried a few things and it got better as we went but we just ran out of laps.”

“Things got a little crazy at the end of the race,” said crew chief Kenneth Campbell. “At one point we were the only car one lap down and we just tried to stay out of the way of the people racing in front of us.”

Matt Kenseth won the race with an average speed of 116.238 miles per hour. A total of 21 cars finished on the lead lap.
