Green finishes 25th at Lowes Motor Speedway
Concord, N.C. – Mark Green finished 25th in the Car
Quest AutoParts 300 at Lowes Motor Speedway Saturday night.
Green started in 30th position, but handling issues plagued
the #23 Vassarette Chevrolet early in the race. After several
adjustments the car improved and Green was one of nine cars
to lead the race over the course of the event.
“I’m proud of our crew,” said Green.
“We were a lot better on the long runs but the crew
made the adjustments that let us compete out there today.”
Points wise, it was a productive weekend for Keith Coleman
Racing. The team jumped two positions in the owner points
standings and gained 23 points on the coveted 30th position,
which locks a team in to the next race.
“We are making progress,” said crew chief Kenneth
Campbell. “Our goal is to work our way into the top
30 in the next couple of races so we’ll be able to
concentrate more on the race set up during practice.”
With Memorial Day on Monday, it will be a quick turnaround
this week. The team leaves for Dover on Wednesday where
Green will compete in the MBNA RacePoints 200 on Saturday.
Kyle Busch led the most laps and won the event. A total
of 28 cars finished on the lead lap.
