Monster Mile waits for Green
Eddyville, KY – Mark Green and the #23 Vassarette
Chevrolet team will be back in action this weekend at Dover
International Speedway.
“It is a fun track because you can run a lot of different
places,” said Green. “In a lot of ways it is
a bigger version of Bristol. It is fast, intense racing
and you have to be aware of what is going on every second.”
“They don’t call it the Monster Mile for nothing,”
said crew chief Kenneth Campbell. “This place is fast
and hard on equipment. It definitely earned the name.”
Green must once again make the field on time. However,
with only 43 listed entries, the team will be able to work
on a race set up during practice for the first time since
leaving Atlanta after the fifth race of the season.
“We been forced to concentrate on qualifying and
that hurt us a little during the race,” said Green.
“Being able to go with the race set up will help us
considerably.”
Qualifying takes place on Friday afternoon at 1:35 while
the race will take place on Saturday at 1:35 p.m. Qualifying
will be televised on Speed while the race will air on FX.
All times are eastern.
