Mechanical problems plague Green in Meijer
300
Sparta, Ky. – The Meijer 300 start just fine for
Mark Green in the Vassarette Chevrolet. After an adjustment
on the first pit stop the car came in and he began to work
his up through the field.
Unfortunately for Green and the #23 crew, a mechanical
problem in the rear end forced an unscheduled pit stop that
cost the team a couple of laps. But the bad luck didn’t
end there as another rear end problem sent the team to the
garage area for repairs. Green returned when the problem
was corrected and finished the race in 33rd position.
“We’d have caught a lot of those guys in front
of us if the rear end hadn’t gone,” said Green.
“We managed to get back out there and pick up a few
positions, but it just wasn’t our night.”
Carl Edwards led 150 of 200 laps and won the event after
retaking the lead with two laps to go.
