Green to start new streak at Pikes Peak

Eddyville, Ky. – Mark Green will attempt to qualify on time for the second straight week in the Salute to our Troops 250 this weekend at Pikes Peak International Raceway. Green had qualified for nine consecutive races earlier in the season before narrowly missing the field in the Winn Dixie 250.

Green will be racing the same car he drove last week at New Hampshire International Speedway. The #23 BMAR Support our Troops Chevrolet is painted in the colors of the American flag and features decals supporting the U. S. Military. The scheme fits well with the title sponsor of the this weekend’s event.

“It was a pretty good car for us in New Hampshire,” said Green. “It handled well and got around the track without any problems, but the brakes were a little off. I couldn’t drive as deep in to the corners as I wanted to as a result and that hurt us as the race went on.”

“The guys did a great job turning the car around to race this weekend and I know we’ll be ready to go on Friday.”

Both practice sessions will be held on Friday morning with qualifying following at 6:30 p.m. eastern time. The Salute to our Troops 250 will take place at 3:30 p.m. eastern time on Saturday and will air on TNT.
