Mechanical Problems force early exit in
St. Louis
Madison, Ill. – Things went downhill quickly for
Mark Green in the #23 BMAR Chevrolet at Gateway International
Raceway on Saturday. Green started in 34th position but
mechanical problems forced him to take the car into the
garage after the first lap.
He returned to the track and completed 120 of the 200 laps
before a recurrence forced a final trip behind the pit wall.
“It was a tough night for us,” said Green.
“We don’t really know what went wrong yet but
we’ll figure it out. We ran as many laps as we could
and managed to pick up a few spots before having to call
it a night.”
The Wallace Family Tribute 250 was won by Reed Sorenson.
Hometown favorite Mike Wallace finished second. A total
of 25 cars finished on the lead lap at the 1.25 mile track.
With this race in the books, Green and teammate Kim Crosby,
who failed to qualify, will turn their sights to Indianapolis
where they will race at Indianapolis Raceway Park next week.
