Green proud to represent BMAR at MIS
Eddyville, Ky. – Mark Green will be racing to support
the U. S. Military at Michigan International Speedway on
Saturday. Green is the driver of the #23 BMAR Support Our
Troops Chevrolet.
“I feel privileged to be racing for a company like
BMAR,” Green said. “ I love the way they work
with and go out of their way to support the military. They’re
based in Hopkinsville, Ky., which is just a half hour away
from Fort Campbell, where the 101st Airborne unit is based.
The 101st is going to be sending 18,000 troops to Iraq a
little later this fall and anything I can do to show my
support for them is an honor.”
Once again, Green will be forced to qualify on time. With
50 cars entered in the Domino’s Pizza 250, Green is
one of 19 drivers competing for the 12 open starting positions.
The top 30 cars in terms of owner’s points are guaranteed
a spot in the race.
“We’ve been scratching and clawing all year
to try and get back in the top 30 in owner’s points,”
he said. “Unfortunately we haven’t been able
to work our way in yet. We’ve been close a couple
of times but it seems every time we were poised to make
the jump something happened. That’s why it is so hard
to work your way in, you have to be perfect every week while
the cars you are chasing have a little margin for error.”
The team will have two practices on Friday to get the
car set up to Green’s liking. Qualifying airs at 10
a.m. Eastern time on Saturday on Speed and the race follows
on TNT at 3 p.m.
