Brooklyn, Mich. – Mark Green finished 33rd behind
the wheel of the #23 BMAR Support Our Troops Chevrolet at
Michigan International Speedway on Saturday.
After rain washed away qualifying, the field was set by
Nascar based on owner’s points. Green started in 34th
position but was unable to move much higher on the two-mile
oval.
“It was a difficult day,” said Green. “We
were set up for qualifying but never got the chance and
once we got in the race the car just wouldn’t turn
through the corners like I needed it to. We tried several
adjustments but couldn’t seem to find the right formula.”
Ryan Newman won the race after passing leader Greg Biffle
on a re-start with six laps to go. Only 16 cars finished
on the lead lap in the Irish Hills of Michigan. KCR teammate
Kim Crosby in the #26 Vassarette Chevrolet was one of seven
cars locked out of the field as a result of the rain.
