Team 70 Ready for Start of New Season

WARSAW, Ind. - While the National Football League recently concluded its season with the Super Bowl, NASCAR will kick its season off with its version of the Super Bowl.

Warsaw, Indiana-based ML Motorsports, with driver Mark Green behind the wheel of the No. 70 Biomet/Foretravel Motorcoach Chevrolet, will be in Daytona Beach, Florida preparing for the Camping World 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series season opener on February 14th. The NNS event will serve as a prelude to the next day's Daytona 500 Sprint Cup Series race.

As is the case each season when stock car racing teams flock to the warmer weather of Florida, there is a lot of pressure to succeed at the famed 2.5-mile superspeedway.

And there's a clean slate.

With Green behind the wheel, ML Motorsports competed in 19 Nationwide Series races during the 2008 season, with an average start of 25th and an average finish of 22nd.

The team's best finish came in the form of a fifth-place effort at Talladega in April, and Green qualified fourth the following week at Richmond International Raceway.

Since their last race, a 20th-place finish at Texas in November, Team 70 has been working hard to be ready for the season opener at Daytona. In last year's race at DIS, Green qualified 12th, but the team had to bring home two badly wrecked race cars, as Green got caught up in accidents in both practice and the race.

Such is the case with restrictor-plate racing.

Green and Team 70 are hoping for much different results this time around.
